The premise seemed interesting but this feels like a really bad character bashing fanfiction. I would still give the translation a 3 out of 5 though, it is read-able but also very plain and average. That said, some of the nuance in the character's speech is lost so the story seems a bit more "flat" than I initially read from the raws which is somewhat of a disappointment. Nothing too "offensive" though, and you should be able to piece it together with little effort. The translator could very much use the help of an editor since there are a bunch of typos /grammar mistakes. Overall, I would give it a passing grade as I have not noticed any glaring mistranslated despite it being MTL. If you're looking for your typical Reincarnated as the Villainess then it might not be your cup of tea, but as a not-so-serious and lighthearted romcom (?) this is definitely a good read.Įdit: Since the review above is based on reading the raws, I'll throw in a small bit regarding the English translation. Overall, I rate this novel as a solid 4/5 due to the aforementioned flaws.

The novel's plot is pretty far removed from the "original timeline" causing the majority of the "main characters" from the game to feel underdeveloped and somewhat inconsequential to the actual plot (as weird as that sounds). Because of this, the story is more of a "The main character is super OP" type of story as emphasized by the title. There isn't much in the way of your typical "breaking death flags" trope because the game version of Yumiela had very little impact on the original game's story, and was only made into the "Hidden Boss" as a sort of Easter Egg by the game developers. That being said, the novel does have its faults, primarily due to the fact that it doesn't really fall in line with your typical definition of Villainess Reincarnation. If I had to classify her, I would say she's similar to Claudia from I'm Not a Villainess!! Just Because I Can Control Darkness, but also has a fair share of air-headedness like Bertia or Bakarina from "Fiancée's Observation Record" and "Destruction Flags".

Being level 99, she is a bit out of the realm of common sense, which leads to some rather comical tsukkomi-eque interactions with the supporting cast.

more> secrets and generally takes the stance of "I know I'm disliked, but I'm just going to do my own thing anyways". She often speaks her thoughts without hiding any. While being overall stoic and apathetic due to her treatment as a child, Yumiela is unlike most "shunned" main characters due to the fact that she does not hesitate to interact with other people. The "Villainess" plays a major role in why I rate this novel so highly. And I have to say, so far it has been extremely enjoyable. Oh boy, it has been a while since a novel/manga has piqued my interest enough for me to go and read the raws.
